Hello Ukraine,
I may be wrong, but i believe the Chernobyl plant was located very close to the Belarus-Ukraine border. Do you have any idea about the actions people in Belarus took after the explosion?

Thanks,
Matt in the USA

Hi, guys,
Thanks everybody. I have read all comments and they are very fascinating. Here are some of our students' answers:
1) Chernobyl is about 100 km from Kyiv
2)In 1986 schools were evacuated from Kyiv for summer time and students returned on the 1 of September.
3)We don't live in the centre of the city where the latest events are taking place. Our district is non govermental and very peaceful. We get information from our aquaintanses and massmedia.
4)As for Belarus in 1986, we know a vast teretory was polluted. People also got support from goverment.
We are very thankful for your concern about us and that you posted some praising words for our English. It is great to communicate with you. Everything is fine and we are very optimistic about the future.
Good luck,

Thank you for your comments. My students are happy to chat with you and have just tried to answer all the questions. I'm sory that one of your students' comment was accidentally deleted because of the problems with the Internet connection. Thank you for understanding.
