Chornobyl

Happy Thanksgiving!About 46 million turkeys are cooked for Thanksgiving each year.

Since President George H.W. Bush pardoned the first turkey from in 1989, and it's a tradition that persists today.
But what happens to the lucky bird that doesn't get served with a side of mashed potatoes?
In 2005 and 2009, the turkeys were sent to Disneyland and Walt Disney World parks
to serve as grand marshal in their annual Thanksgiving parades.
And from 2010 to 2013, they vacationed at Washington's Mount Vernon state.
Not bad!

Answering one of the American students' questions,we have to admit that in our school we pay a lot of attention to the topic of Chornobyl and do research. Here is a video which is the result of our students' research in 2013 prepared for the students in Argentina and the USA.More answers to the American students' questions are coming soon, too.

Here is a video made by Sophia Kushnir,
whose mother (8-grade student in 1986) witnessed the tragedy.Although Sophia's mother speaks Ukrainian, captions in English are available.

majority of radioactive materials was recorded in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. That happened because of the wind, rain and river which spreaded the contamination. But such countries as Sweden, Finland, Austria, Norway, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Greece were polluted too. Flora and fauna, rivers and lakes, as well as ground water were badly affected. Radionuclides were found in plants, animals and water even years after the accident.

Answers for American students' questions

Hi, American students!
I want to write some answers to your questions.
Yes, we every year learn about Chernobyl at school. We watch videos and talk with teachers about it.
My mum and dad were 12 when the disaster happened. When they got to know about it, they right away went to camps.
Our country has recovered from the disaster for a long time. Now we had terrible consequences of the tragedy too. People get sick more often; there is an Exclusion Zone around the Chernobyl NPP, where there are a lot of radiation.
See you soon,

Hello everybody
We learn about Chernobyl at school, our teachers showed us a lot of presentations. Also my mum was 11 years old and immediately after the accident, my mother was sent to a camp. A long time in Chernobyl it was impossible to сome because it was in the radiation. Аs most of Europe was to radiation. This led to many heart diseases

Hi guys
I saw your questions. But... . I want to say you one story about chernobyl tragedy.People who lived there didn't know about tragedy when it started. Firefighters told ,what it was forest fire. Ministers tried to hide it. It's continued a few days. Than other countries have noticed this. But in Ukraine, no one knew about it. While other countries have not started to put pressure on the authorities in Ukraine for some reason do not know about Ukrainians. Only after that we learned of the tragedy, but many had deadly ill.

Hi guys)
Our teachers every year showed a video and presentation for this tragedy.I don't like to speak for this things becoue this is very frightful for me.
Now in Chernobyl we isn't having a big radiation and people lived near Chernobyl and work that's where. Prior to departure is
barrier which nobody let pass.
