Dinosaur Ridge - Habitat / Biodiversity
Our classes visited an area in Colorado where dinosaurs used to live. This area was the coast of a tropical sea 135 million years ago. Dinosaurs lived in the area and their footprints are still visible in the rock.Approximately 70 million years ago the Rocky Mountains formed and the sea receded and the habitat changed dramatically.
We visited a few locations in the area and made this video to show you what it looks like today.

Hello !!! I really liked your video, it's very exciting and interesting. In our city there are many small mountains. I know these: Horevitsa Florovsky, Castle Hill, Kiselyovka - all names for the same hill. To avoid confusion, it is easier to remember the name Florovskaya mountain, because it is located at the foot of Florovsky nunnery. Its highest point at an altitude of about 169 meters.

1. The closest to us moutains it is mountains of Carpathias. The biggest mountain is Goverla (2061 m). They are about 30 millions years old.
2. Carpathian Mountains have many fossils of ammonites, sharks and fishes.
3. Many years ago it was the largest sea.

The closest mountains to Kyiv are the Carpathian Mountains. They are about 25 million years old. In the past, in the Palaeozoic, there were another mountains, that have ruined. In the Mesozoic there was a plain. In the Cenozoic the Carpathian Mountains were under the Paleogene sea. Then sea has retreated and appeared the Carpathian Mountains, that are creating and now.

But a lot of them has interesting histiry. And now I explain this. We have oak in Zaporizhye. it was planting in 1678.This tree is a sacred relic of the Ukrainian Cossacks.

I can’t believe it, but you worked very hard as most adult people do.
I like Ukrainian trees. I have been to Odessa, Lviv, Crimea, Ivano-Frankivsk and in Truskavets. In the different parts of Ukraine trees are different. I live in Kyiv. A chestnut is a symbol of the city. My favorite tree is an oak tree. It is so big and usual.
