I have found that the website Medline Plus has been very helpful. Especially the webpage Cystic fibrosis -nutrition on that cite has been very helpful. It tells you all of the nutrients that cystic fibrosis patients need and gives examples of foods that include these nutrients. Another website I found helpful was National Jewish Health's page called "Cystic Fibrosis" this give nutrition facts, treatment facts, and other general facts on Cystic fibrosis. In my reading I found out the patients with cystic fibrosis need vitamins A,E,D, and K. I was wondering if I should combine them into a multivitamin or keep them as separate vitamins? Also, I was wondering how to make vitamins and nutrition fun for this two year old boy? My plans for this week are to research more on those vitamins and look more into supplements that cystic fibrosis patients need. -Heidi

One website that I found helpful is:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cystic-fibrosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20353700
This website talks about what Cystic Fibrosis is, some symptoms, complications, and prevention. This gave me a good idea of what Cystic Fibrosis is.

Another website that I found helpful is:
https://www.cff.org/What-is-CF/About-Cystic-Fibrosis/
This website goes more in to detail about how people are diagnosed and what Cystic Fibrosis is in general.

I am questioning:
-What is the average lifespan of a person with Cystic Fibrosis? What causes the person to die at this age from Cystic Fibrosis? What can we do to lengthen their lifespan?
-How do I want to present the information that we have collected?

My goals are:
-Writing my paragraphs, which includes assisting my teammates in their research
-Researching the questions I have above
-Arranging my notes better so I can read them more easily

Hope to hear back from you,

I liked this website because it had many facts and was easy to use
I wonder what the best treatment options are.
I want to find a good treatment option by the end of the week

www.cff.org/Life-With-CF/Treatments-and-Therapies/
This website was good because it had great info and told how it is to have cf
I wonder what the best devises are. I wonder what is the gas or liquid in the inhalers
I want to find out what is inside of the gas or liquid they are breathing in

Hi everyone,
Here is a link to a website that the dietician may find helpful:
https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/toddler/nutrition/Pages/Feeding-and-Nutrition-Your-Two-Year-Old.aspx
This website gives an outline on the foods that 2 year olds shouldn't eat. It is especially helpful when creating the meal plan.

Here is another link to a website that the dietician and pharmaceutical researcher may find helpful:
http://kidshealth.org/en/teens/cf-diet.html#
This website includes a list of meal tips and a page on nutrients that are important for with Cystic Fibrosis.

My questions include:
-What are the daily nutritional requirements for patients with Cystic Fibrosis?
-What kinds of foods will help meet these requirements?
-What minerals and vitamins do Cystic Fibrosis patients tend to lack?
-How does diet affect the lifespan and overall health of people with Cystic Fibrosis.

My goals for this week include:
-Creating a reliable list of daily nutritional requirements for 2 year-olds with Cystic Fibrosis
-Beginning the meal plan

Good luck on your project!
